This Irish Open is going to be the best yet!

The “Pre-Memorial” Irish Open has been working with Charities for 27 years and this year we are elated to have St. Jude Children’s Hospital as our benefiting charity.

There was a time when Phil Harris, Claude Akins and I were talking of the fun and camaraderie of the tournament and mention was made that it just doesn’t get any better than it is right now. When Claude passed on, Phil and I couldn’t get away from the reflections of that day.

It seemed so ridiculous to have a Memorial for those who are no longer with us. The real issue should be to celebrate life and good times with all of us in company at the time. So I changed the name from the “Irish Open” to the
“Pre-Memorial” Irish Open.

The Letterman’s Club was introduced to honor those who have supported this event for 5 years or more with an induction into the Club with a personalized Letter Sweater and certain fraternal Letterman privileges.

What a wonderful venue to enjoy the warm sun in Palm Desert, California, the Great Golf Courses, rub elbows with the Celebrities and party with Fraternal Friends while at the same time helping a very worthwhile cause.
